Overview

Krost, a prominent Australian retailer in office furniture and related products, faced a unique challenge. While their storefront showcased sleek designs and top-quality products, behind the scenes, they grappled with intricate manufacturing and selling processes. To streamline their operations and enhance client interaction, Krost envisioned an internal platform for both their employees and enterprise clients.

Krost’s operations were multifaceted. From manufacturing logistics to client orders, every process had its own set of complexities. The first step in the design journey was gathering insights. This involved deep discussions with Krost employees from various departments and a select group of their enterprise clients. This dialogue highlighted the key functionalities that the dashboard needed to encompass and provided a clear picture of user preferences and challenges. With a clear understanding in hand, the task was to design a dashboard that was both comprehensive and intuitive.

The emphasis was on simplicity and efficiency. For Krost employees, the platform would offer tools for manufacturing oversight, inventory management, and order processing. For enterprise clients, the dashboard would provide an easy way to place bulk orders, track deliveries, and manage invoices. The user interface aimed to minimize excessive clicks and transitions. Information was organized to ensure that users, whether they were from Krost’s sales team or a client's procurement department, could quickly access what they needed. Upon implementation, the Krost web-application was well-received. Employees appreciated the streamlined processes, noting that the platform significantly reduced manual tasks and improved efficiency.

Enterprise clients found value in the transparent ordering and tracking systems, praising the ease with which they could manage their interactions with Krost. The Krost dashboard project reaffirms the notion that good design centers on understanding and catering to user needs. By offering a platform that simplifies complex tasks and enhances user interactions, Krost not only improved its internal operations but also strengthened its relationship with enterprise clients.
